Women in Tech, CIO Africa by dx5 Partner For IWD 2026
Women in Tech Kenya will convene Beyond Boundaries: Women in Tech Global Exchange in Nairobi on 6 March 2026 at the Trademark Hotel, bringing together women technology leaders from Kenya, Uzbekistan, and Eastern Europe for connection, collaboration, and learning aligned to International Women’s Day.
This year’s convening will be headlined by Anna Ambrozevich, Country Director of Women in Tech Uzbekistan, whose work has focused on building community, leadership pathways, and professional visibility for women in technology.
“Beyond Boundaries is not just a theme; it is a commitment,” said Lucy Mbuthia, Women in Tech Kenya Lead. “We are going beyond the borders of what a regional chapter can be… and this March, we are building it together, across continents.”

She added that Ambrozevich stood out, not just because of what she has built in Uzbekistan, but because of how she has built it. “She has grown a movement in a market that many wouldn’t think to look at – Central Asia – and she has done it with intentionality, community, and a deep belief in the power of personal branding and networks to transform women’s careers.”
Ambrozevich invests in youth, actively creating pathways for them to step into leadership, build their voices, and own their place in the tech ecosystem. “That commitment to the next generation is something Women in Tech Kenya holds at its core, and it makes her presence here more than symbolic. She is exactly the kind of leader we want our young women to see, hear, and connect with,” says Mbuthia.
Ambrozevich’s far-reaching and impactful work runs parallel to Mbuthia’s. “I see many similarities between Uzbekistan and Kenya. Both are fast-growing, youth-driven, ambitious countries with strong communities and powerful female leaders shaping the future. Both are tech hubs of their regions with incredible speed of development,” says Ambrozevich.

Kenya and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on diplomatic cooperation late 2025. “What might look like coincidence is, in reality, a natural continuation of growing intercontinental dialogue,” she said.
The exchange connects into the broader Women in Tech global ecosystem, including the Women in Tech Global Summit 2026, set for Cape Town from 28–30 April, 2026.
Meanwhile, CIO Africa by dx5’s dxNova diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) platform will be on hand to exclusively interview Ambrozevich and connect with women in the tech space in East Africa. And I will be moderating a powerful Fireside Chat on Women in Leadership in STEAM.

“The message I want our community to take away is simple: you are not waiting for a seat at a table that already exists. You are building the table, and this March, we are building it together, across continents,” declares Mbuthia.
