Microsoft is on track to unravel specific significant changes to its built-in touch keyboard for Windows 10. The new design will revolve around bringing something Microsoft alludes to being a game-changer – interactivity.
The new style in Windows 10 also ties together better layouts that are optimised for typing, and the ability to move the cursor in through the space bar on the touch keyboard. This is very similar to how iOS lets you operate the cursor, by placing a finger on the space bar and sliding left, right, up, and down to navigate around. In minuscule aspects, iOS and Microsoft are creating platforms based on a very fluent design system.
Microsoft is also updating its emoji picker in Windows 10. The emoji picker, which activates when you press Winkey + period. There’s emoji search, animated GIF support, and the convergence of clipboard history and emoji input into a single interface. A single interface would allow for synergy of the entire Microsoft design system, allowing for a more ultra-modern experience.

Together with the keyboard and emoji improvements, Microsoft is also releasing a new form of Windows dictation. Dubbed Voice Typing. It includes a crisp design, auto-punctuation, and an updated backend that Microsoft says will make it “the most reliable voice typing experience ever on Windows.”
These updates are part of a more significant update Microsoft is planning for Windows 10 in the first half of 2021.
