Westcon-Comstor And Microsoft Announce New Investments
Global technology provider Westcon-Comstor has announced new partner investments and enablement initiatives under its alliance with Microsoft Sub-Saharan Africa. The specialist distributor made the announcement at the Westcon Microsoft Partner Summit hosted at Microsoft offices in Nairobi, Kenya.
The event highlighted new joint initiatives designed to equip partners with advanced enablement, resources, and programmes to help them capitalise on opportunities in AI, cloud, and security.
Under the theme “Transformation that Builds Tomorrow”, the summit gave African partners an exclusive look into Microsoft’s priorities for the coming year, while unpacking what they mean for the local ecosystem. These included embedding AI into every workflow, modernising enterprises through cloud and data platforms, and strengthening security as the foundation for digital transformation.

For the partners that attended the event, the value lay in gaining practical guidance on how to translate these priorities into new services and recurring revenue streams tailored for Africa’s fast-evolving market.
Discussions highlighted the importance of aligning Microsoft’s global roadmap with the realities of African organisations, ensuring partners are equipped to help customers address regulatory, infrastructure, and industry-specific challenges.
“Kenya’s technology sector is one of the most dynamic in Africa, but, like the rest of the continent, with that dynamism comes complexity,” said Vincent Entonu, Managing Director Africa at Westcon-Comstor.

“Our role as a transformation distributor is to simplify this journey for our partners, equipping them with the knowledge, programmes and resources they need to innovate confidently. This summit was about giving partners across Africa a seat at the table to understand Microsoft’s vision, and walking away with strategies that are actionable in their businesses today,” Entonu added.
Partner ecosystem at the centre of Africa’s digital transformation
By strengthening its investment across Sub-Saharan Africa, Westcon-Comstor is reinforcing its role as a trusted advisor to local partners. Unlike traditional distributors, the company focuses on co-creating tailored transformation journeys with each partner, ensuring they can unlock sustainable growth while helping customers embrace AI business solutions, cloud and AI platforms, and security solutions.
“Kenya has always been at the forefront of digital innovation in Africa, and what we see here is a partner ecosystem that is driving meaningful change,” said Elaine Van Der Plank, Senior Partner Development Manager for Africa at Microsoft.

Building tomorrow, today
The Nairobi summit also served as a networking platform, enabling Kenyan and Sub-Saharan African partners to engage directly with Microsoft and Westcon leadership, exchange insights with peers, and explore new opportunities to drive impact in the local economy.
“For us, transformation is not an abstract concept. It’s about helping our partners and their customers across Africa solve real challenges, whether that’s scaling securely to the cloud, modernising legacy systems, or using AI to unlock productivity. Together with Microsoft, we’re building tomorrow, today,” Entonu added.
