Vertiv To Host Digital AI Innovation Roadshow For Africa
Vertiv is set to bring its AI Innovation Roadshow back to Africa, this time in a fully digital format, as the company continues to spotlight the continent’s growing role in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem. Scheduled for 15 April, the upcoming webinar will convene industry experts and stakeholders to explore how African data centres can evolve to meet the demands of AI-driven workloads.
Under the theme “AI-Ready Data Centres for Africa: Building Infrastructure for What’s Next,” the session will examine what it takes to prepare facilities for increasingly complex computing requirements driven by AI, cloud adoption and ongoing digital transformation initiatives across the continent. As organisations accelerate their use of advanced technologies, the need for robust, scalable and efficient infrastructure is becoming more urgent.
The webinar will delve into the foundational elements required to support this shift, with a strong focus on power, cooling and modular infrastructure. These components are critical in enabling high-density computing environments while maintaining operational efficiency and sustainability. Discussions will highlight how data centres can adapt to support both current and future workloads without compromising performance or energy efficiency.

Vertiv’s regional and global experts, including Wojtek Piorko, managing director for Africa, alongside Jon Abbott, Andrew Carikas and Haroun De-Almeida, will lead conversations around key industry considerations. These include the impact of AI workloads on data centre strategies across Africa, the rising importance of energy-efficient power solutions, and the evolution of cooling technologies such as precision cooling, chilled-water systems and liquid cooling readiness. The session will also explore modular approaches that enable flexible, scalable expansion, as well as strategies for building resilient, future-ready facilities capable of supporting long-term growth.
A panel discussion titled “Powering AI in Africa: Exploring readiness, infrastructure challenges and scalable growth” will further unpack the opportunities and constraints shaping the sector. The discussion will feature contributions from Piorko and other industry leaders, including Ayotunde Coker, offering practical insights into the realities of scaling AI infrastructure across diverse African markets.
According to Piorko, Africa is fast emerging as a strategically important region in the global AI landscape, underpinned by increasing investment in digital infrastructure. He notes that the digital format of this edition of the roadshow is designed to reach a wider audience, enabling deeper engagement on the practical steps required to prepare data centres for AI workloads while ensuring efficient and environmentally responsible growth.
