Twiga Foods Appoints Charles Ballard As New CEO

Twiga Foods has appointed Charles Ballard as the new Chief Executive Officer, following completion of a comprehensive global search process.

Ballard has a career spanning over 15 years, 9 of which are in the Kenyan market. He brings a wealth of experience in e-commerce, retail, and financial services. Most recently, Ballard was the CEO of Jumia Kenya, a leading e-commerce company.

Commenting on the appointment, Hein Pretorius, the Chairman of Twiga Foods’, expressed his delight saying that Ballard’s experience in Kenyan e-commerce makes him the ideal leader for Twiga Foods.

On his part, Ballard welcomed his new appointment expressing his optimism for the opportunity.

As CEO, he will oversee all aspects of Twiga’s business supported by the other senior leaders – Chief Operating Officer Anjan Dasgupta, Chief Technology Officer Paul Bombo, Chief People Officer Susan Kiama, and Chief Financial Officer Zuber Momoniat. The appointment of a new CEO will bolster Twiga Foods’ ambition to continue to deliver on its mission to transform food supply chains in Africa.
