Total Kenya donates ICT equipment to Computers For Schools Kenya (CFSK)

Computers For Schools Kenya (CFSK) received ICT equipment from Total Kenya Limited which in turn will ensure that more schools in the rural areas will have access to information and communication ICT equipment. This is the fourth time that the Company has donated equipment to be refurbished and distributed to schools.

The electronic equipment consisting of 37 Lenovo Docking Stations, 12 HP Scanners, 48 Central Processing Units, 51 computer monitors, 27 printers, 5 laptops and 14 Servers was handed over to Dr. Tom Musili, Founder Director of CFSK, by Premenand Dhoomon, the Finance Director of Total Kenya Limited.

Premenand said, “Total Kenya is pleased to partner with CFSK to make ICT accessible to more schools in Kenya and equip the less fortunate schools with computer labs for learning.”

“We are champions of environmental safety and we have high standards for the safe disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste (WEEE). It is part of our policy to protect the environment from degradation. We are pleased that CFSK has a well established centre of WEEE that meets our standards.”

While receiving the consignment Dr. Musili thanked Total Kenya by saying, “Many institutions in remote parts of Kenya have never seen computers. Our partnership with Total Kenya and other organisations has enabled us to provide over five million young Kenyans with access to information and communication technologies.”

“CFSK has sourced over 360,000 personal computers that have been deployed in over 10,000 public secondary and primary schools, technical training institutes, teacher training colleges and medical training centres.”

“We have a refurbishment and maintenance centre for these computers to ensure they are fully operational all the time and when they become obsolete, we collect and dispose of them in our e-waste management plant.”
