Telkom has today officially opened its revamped retail shop in Mombasa with a new, modern and fresh layout. The new layout that has the digital customer in mind takes care of the customer journey from beginning to end.
Mombasa County’s role as the commercial hub of the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani initiative (JKP) – presents an opportunity to build on efficiencies for optimal operations, thereby attracting investment. The launch of the revamped retail centre will therefore be a catchment for tailored experiences for both retail and corporate customers as well as the Public Sector.
Speaking when he presided over the official launch of the retail shop, Governor of Mombasa County, Hassan Joho said:
“ICT sits at the heart of our vision to transform Mombasa into a vibrant, modern regional commercial hub which requires adequate and reliable connectivity that Telkom’s continued expansion into the county offers.”
“We see opportunities for synergies with the County Government of Mombasa, which recognizes ICT as a key economic driver in its quest to become a vibrant and modern regional hub. Considering the strategic role that Mombasa already plays as a key gateway in the national and regional economy, it requires robust and reliable connectivity to the rest of the world,” reiterates Mr. Mareuse.
“The impact of Mombasa County on the economy cannot be argued. The pursuit of an automated economy requires that all businesses have access to adequate infrastructure and reliable Connectivity. It is the agenda of the County government to leverage technology to automate services for the benefit of the people and businesses in the County. This is the reason the county government is increasingly automating business processes and making more services accessible online, besides e-business service and e-construction permit. This will further enhance service delivery to the people of Mombasa,” adds Governor Joho.
