Tala Named CNBC World’s Top Fintech For The Second Time
Tala, a global financial infrastructure company, has once again been crowned CNBC World’s Top FinTech, reaffirming its position as a leading global provider of accessible financial services.
The recognition highlights the company’s sustained impact in serving underbanked communities across emerging markets. The accolade, jointly awarded by CNBC and research firm Statista, evaluated more than 2,000 fintech companies globally using a rigorous methodology that weighted overall performance (40 percent) and segment-specific key performance indicators (60 percent).
“Being named CNBC’s Top FinTech again is a tremendous honor and a powerful validation of our mission,” said Annstella Mumbi, General Manager of Tala-Kenya. “It proves that serving a population nobody else has dared to serve creates significant impact and financial value.”

Since its launch in 2011, Tala has disbursed over $6 billion in loans to more than 11 million customers across East Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. Its machine learning models, trained on billions of proprietary data points, enable the company to reach underserved populations with an industry-leading 95% repayment rate.
Mumbi noted that Tala’s success stems from its commitment to financial literacy, reliable digital products, and partnerships that strengthen local financial ecosystems.
Tala’s repeat win comes amid continued global recognition, having appeared on the Forbes Fintech 50 for nine years and CNBC’s Disruptor 50 for five years. It also earned a spot on Fortune’s Impact 20 list.
