Syntonic, a connected services provider today announced a solution for Samsung KNOX to make it easier for enterprises to manage employees’ use of mobile devices and business applications, benefiting BYOD and COPE programs.
Syntonic made the announcement today at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, where the company is exhibiting Syntonic DataFlex for Enterprise in the Samsung Exhibit Hall 8.1.
With Syntonic DataFlex for Enterprise, KNOX Workspace devices are enabled to provide split data billing as a value-add service for KNOX integrated Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) providers. Syntonic DataFlex for Enterprise is available now for commercial deployment.

“We believe our integration with Samsung KNOX will play a significant role in accelerating the adoption and efficiency of corporate BYOD and COPE programs,” said Syntonic CEO Gary Greenbaum. “The intersection of mobile workforce productivity and personal use for mobile devices has made it clear to CIOs and CFOs that work is no longer bounded by location; work can be performed anywhere, on any device.”
CIOs have faced an all-or-nothing approach to funding wireless access expenses. With Syntonic’s DataFlex split billing services, Enterprises can now take advantage of a simple solution that provides insight to wireless access expenses.
This simultaneously enhances employee productivity while reducing costs, strengthens security, and provides business intelligence for budgeting, forecasting and corporate compliance, which is appealing to CIOs and CFOs alike.

Syntonic CSP for Enterprise is built upon the company’s in-network, cloud managed Connected Services Platform. For any Samsung KNOX device, Syntonic’s connected services can support any application and web service deployed within KNOX’s enterprise-hardened, secure workspace environment. Syntonic’s client and back-end platform can be incorporated into approved EMM vendor solutions as a value-add service to increase mobile worker productivity, reduce network expense, and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policy.
The burgeoning prevalence of BYOD and the mounting corporate need to reduce capital expenditure, require a border between personal and business use on mobile devices. KNOX provides the secure environment to differentiate work from personal use, and Syntonic provides the secure mobile access, billing services, and analytics to support multiple KNOX user personas.
“The charter of many CIOs is to enhance support for BYOD while boosting productivity and managing costs,” said Bill Richter, former President of Isilon Storage Division, EMC. “Syntonic is addressing an enormous need within large and medium sized businesses to strengthen operational efficiency by their integration with the Samsung KNOX workspace. IT managers will now have the tools to more effectively manage BYOD programs, increase workforce efficiency, and save money using Syntonic and an EMM vendor with Samsung KNOX support.”
