Sufuria.com was recently featured at AITEC Africa’s ICT Summit at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies in Nairobi Kenya which was held from February 18 – 19, 2015.
At the two day summit start ups were given a chance to gain/ increase notoriety in the world of technology, one of the ways Sufuria.com chose to do so, was through a short message that explains what the start up is about.
“We are concentrating on African dishes. We are giving people a platform where they can post their recipes on African cuisine. It’s free to use the platform and you will able to find all African recipes in one place,” states Sufuria.com website. “We want people to have a variety on what they cook. We want people who have interest in cooking but don’t know what to cook to have a variety of African recipes to try. We are targeting the single people leaving alone and want to treat their boyfriend/girlfriend to something different, we are looking at the first time mothers who don’t know what to prepare for their kids and want to give their kids different dishes the African way. We are looking at the people in the diaspora who want to treat their friends with African cuisine and don’t have a variety to choose from.”

Sufuria.com aims to allow chefs and ordinary people at homes to be able to earn from the portal by posting their unique and authentic recipes. The website will be paying Kshs 100 for every recipe approved by their chefs. It will also be having a ‘Recipe of the Month’ feature where it will reward the top 3 recipes (based on views and shares as posted by users).
The start-up is looking at giving the kitchen suppliers a platform where they can reach their target market.
