Stanbic Bank Appoints Tech Firm Founder A Non-Executive Director

Stanbic Bank Kenya recently appointed Samuel N. Gikandi as an Independent Non-Executive Director, to contribute to the bank’s digital agenda.

Currently the CEO and Co-Founder at Africa Talking Group, a Pan-African Technology company operating in various countries across the continent, Gikandi has previously served as the Head Strategist cum Developer with the Systematic Trading Group in Morgan Stanley, Asia for five years.

“We are honoured to welcome Samuel Gikandi as a member of our Board,” read a statement to the financier’s shareholders by the company secretary, Lilian Mbindyo. “His knowledge and skills will enhance the diversity of the two Boards.”

He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of English in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with a Minor in Economics, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
