Schneider Electric Partners With JS Electromec

Schneider Electric has signed a strategic partnership with JS Electromec, an electric panel builder and supplier of medium and low voltage automation based in Tanzania.

This collaboration will see JS Electromec locally manufacture IEC-Standard Prisma iPM electrical switchboards an initiative that is set to introduce safe, reliable, and cloud connected switchgear for the buildings and industries in Tanzania.

Prisma iPM is an electrical switchboard that is used to manage the electrical distribution system in large and commercial scale industries with a capacity of up to 4000 amps and 415 volts up to IP54 Form 4 Separation, delivered to meet the Schneider Electric quality guarantee.

The collaboration between Schneider Electric and JS Electromec is targeted at introducing locally manufactured, smart, and innovative electrical solutions with features that can be easily integrated into new and existing electrical network installations using the latest communication protocols.

“Local production will reduce the time needed to get the Prisma iPM switchboards to market, lowering costs and making the product more affordable for Tanzanian organizations.” Explained Carol Koech, Country President Schneider Electric East Africa during the launch of the partnership.

“The Prisma iPM switchboard is the best-in-class design that can easily be upgraded and used in every type of commercial and industrial buildings, including retail, hotels, offices, schools and hospitals and we are happy that this partnership with JS Electromec will see building owners benefit from world-class electrical technology at prices that offer excellent value for the local market,” she added.

To ensure the success of this initiative, Schneider Electric is investing in the training of the JS Electromec local personnel to ensure that the product delivered to the market meets international IEC standards 61439-1&2.

JS Electromec will leverage on its years of experience in fabrication and assembly of electrical panel boards, power backup battery racks and cabinets, distribution of electrical products and services to bring Schneider Electric technology, with the introduction of the Prisma iPM switchboard to the market.
