Schneider Electric Expands Its Operations To Tanzania

Schneider Electric expanded its operations to Tanzania with a fully fledged team, office in Dar-es-Salaam, and a state-of-the-art fabrication yard capable of assembling containerized substation solutions. The company is set to serve the region’s growing infrastructure and energy needs.
Following the expansion, Schneider Electric will work with its partners in the region to develop containerized substations, also known as box-type substations. These prefabricated units integrate the low-voltage PRISMA distribution switchboard, solar chargers, inverters, and other key components into one or more standard containers – making them highly recommended to serve different industries in the region.
With Tanzania’s electricity access rate at approximately 45.8 percent, and urban areas experiencing 71 percent electrification while rural communities lag at 23 percent, Schneider Electric is actively working to bridge this gap through innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
