Samsung Unveils 6th Gen Foldable Phones With Galaxy AI

Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of its newest version of foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, along with Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro. The company unveiled these new products at their second Galaxy Unpacked event, held in Paris, France.

Earlier this year, Samsung ushered in the era of mobile AI through the power of Galaxy AI. With this introduction of the new foldables, Samsung is opening the next chapter of Galaxy AI by leveraging its most versatile and flexible form factor perfectly designed to enable a range of unique mobile experiences.

Samsung promises that both the Galaxy Z Fold6 and the Galaxy Z Flip6 will provide more opportunities to maximise AI capabilities. The devices most  notably add the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, which is Qualcomm’s latest flagshit chipset. It has a dedicated neural processing unit for the growing list of Galaxy AI and Google Gemini features present in Android 14 and One UI 6.

Samsung refined their outward design with a flatter profile and less curvature around the corners and edges while making internal room for better cooling properties. Both devices also get an IP48 rating for protection against dust and water. They previously didn’t have an ingress protection rating for dust, though the “4” in that slot means it’s not exactly dust-tight — it only guarantees protection against objects 1mm or larger.

The devices are now available for pre-order with the Fold6 going for $1899 while the Flip goes for $1099. The two will be available for pre-order at authorised Samsung stores and e-commerce partners from 11th July to 31st July.

Customers who pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will receive a slim S-pen case while those who pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive a flip suite case set.
