Safaricom has signed a distribution agreement with Econet Media’s Kwesé TV to deliver video content to Kenyan consumers on their connected devices through data bundles.
Leveraging Safaricom’s 4G network, Kwesé TV’s offering will soon be accessible through Safaricom video data packages and M-Pesa, according to the telco
“Video content is the future of mobile and our partnership with Kwese will enable us to deliver some of the best international and local video content,” Sylvia Mulinge, director- Consumer Business, Safaricom, said in a statement.

Kwesé’s content “showcases Sports and Entertainment, including exclusives like NBA basketball, Revolt TV and VICELAND, as well as live coverage of English Premier League and Brazilian football matches,” the company has said.
“We are seeing increasing integration across our related industries in telecommunications and media. Through our partnership we will be able to leverage our collective strengths to give customers a world-class video service through the fastest network in Kenya. We are excited by the potential that mobile TV offers,” Econet Media’s CEO Joseph Hundah said in a statement.
