Rwanda commits to be home of Cloud and Security Summit

Rwanda has effectively become the new home of Cloud and Cyber Security Summit having successfully hosted the just concluded premier Cloud and Security Summit in Kigali that hosted an average 450 delegates.

While announcing the government of Rwanda’s commitment to co-host next year’s summit in conjunction with CIO – East Africa following a popular demand by the delegates, Innocent Muhizi, CEO Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA) said that besides the  endorsing the Cloud and Security Summit,  the government is fully committed to making Rwanda the home of the shared knowledge and best practices of cloud and cyber security hence its commitment to host the subsequent summits.

“We are glad to announce the dates of next year’s Cloud and Security Summit will be co-hosted next year by RISA and CIO East Africa on 28th – 29th March 2019 in Kigali, Rwanda,” said Muhizi to the jubilant delegates.

The session bringing together IT and Cyber Security experts comprising Cyber Governance and Compliance Teams, CISOs, CIOs, CTOs and IT Architects in the public and business enterprises share experiences that’s squarely intended to debunk cyber security and myths around cloud of which the government of Rwanda has declared is the route for its computing.

Preparation for the next summit starts in earnest considering that it is aimed to attract the major global players addressing pertinent issues that ranging from public cloud to investment on cyber security on matters policy.

This year’s stellar speakers engaged the delegates with insightful ideas on why and how to get to cloud besides demonstrating how legacy companies are adopting next-generation technologies such as cloud in a bid to transform their businesses to the appreciation of many.

Of interest in the menu of ideas was the hands-on learning opportunities via real-life hacking simulations during the afternoon well attended demo sessions.
