CIO East Africa is for the 3rd time hosting the East Africa Internet and Artificial Intelligence (IoT & AI) summit at the Radisson Blu hotel in Nairobi.
The summit, a 2-day informative and educative forum kicked off by an exclusive CIO roundtable breakfast session, where the brains behind so much technology disruption churned out vital information about the progressive uptake of technology and the embrace thereof into business and daily lives.
Laura Chite, CEO CIO East Africa welcomed attendees to the forum, thanking them for coming. She said, “CIO East Africa is honored to be hosting you for the two day forum that will add value to lives in this region.” Adding; ” AI is as complex as IoT is simple, let’s demystify the technologies.”

The first session of the summit, CIO roundtable session explored the many sides of Internet of Things alongside Artificial Intelligence, calibrating clearly when and how adoption is suitable. It also discussed the opportunities and challenges facing the two technology.
“IoT and AI are not silver bullets, said Francis Kamuyu, CIO Multichoice. “It needs a lot of work and brilliant strategy lest it is bound to fail.”
The cabinet secretary for ICT, Joe Mucheru is expected to officially open the forum later in the day.

The Summit has a beehive of activity spread through the two days with startup pitches and use case demos expected on the last day.
