Rack Centre Appoints Lars Johannisson As CEO
Rack Centre, a data centre company based in Nigeria, has named Lars Johannisson as their new CEO.
With his extensive experience in the technology field, Johannisson most recently served as CEO for sub-Saharan Africa at Teleperformance, a French outsourcing firm. His primary role will be to lead Rack Centre’s expansion of its data centre operations across Africa, where there is a growing demand for cloud-based services. Under Johannisson’s strategic direction, the company is expected to experience considerable growth in the years ahead.
Speaking on this appointment, Rack Centre’s Group CEO, Jasper Lankhorst, expressed his expressed his enthusiasm for having Johannisson on board and believes that his expertise and industry knowledge will drive the company’s success.

Johannisson aims to contribute to Nigeria’s digital ecosystem development and is thrilled to join a team that will launch a new hyperscale-ready, 12MW data centre facility in Lagos by 2024.

Rack Center was founded in 2012 and acquired by investment firm Actis in 2020. The company operates one campus in the Ikeja area of Lagos, Nigeria. The first building totals around 1.5MW, while the company is working on a second, 12MW, building that is set to launch in Q2 2024.
