Paratus Expands Into Uganda Through Partnership With Roke Telkom
Pan-African telecommunications provider Paratus Group has announced its entry into Uganda through a joint venture with Roke Telkom Ltd, one of the country’s established internet service providers. The new entity, Paratus Uganda, marks the group’s latest step in expanding its regional footprint across Africa.
The venture brings together Roke Telkom’s local experience and infrastructure with Paratus Group’s continental network and enterprise connectivity services. The two companies aim to create a unified platform offering cross-border connectivity, managed services, and enterprise solutions tailored for Ugandan businesses.
Paratus Uganda will build on Roke Telkom’s 19 years of experience serving government, retail, and enterprise clients through wireless and fibre infrastructure. Roke has previously developed metro fibre rings in Uganda’s major cities and managed solutions that integrate networking, security, and infrastructure services.

Speaking on the partnership, Edwin Kyambadde, Roke Telkom’s representative for Paratus Uganda, said the collaboration will enhance the country’s digital ecosystem. “Our local strength and coverage combined with Paratus Group’s African and global connectivity make Paratus Uganda a strong regional partner for both global and domestic enterprise customers,” he noted.
Schalk Erasmus, CEO of Paratus Group, described the move as part of the company’s broader regional integration strategy. “Expanding into Uganda allows us to bridge network gaps between neighbouring countries and reinforce our contiguous network offering across the continent,” he said.
According to Martin Cox, Group Commercial Executive at Paratus, the partnership reflects Paratus’ ongoing strategy of working with local providers to strengthen its continental presence. “Partnering with Roke to establish Paratus Uganda is a key milestone in our expansion strategy and underscores our commitment to delivering reliable network services across Africa,” he said.

By entering Uganda, Paratus aims to extend its enterprise-grade connectivity and managed network solutions to sectors such as healthcare, mining, tourism, and NGOs. Basically areas that increasingly depend on resilient digital infrastructure to support operations and growth.
The establishment of Paratus Uganda positions both companies to play a greater role in driving digital transformation in East Africa, where demand for reliable, high-speed connectivity continues to grow amid accelerating adoption of cloud and data-driven technologies.
