The Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology in conjunction with the ICT Authority and industry players will convene an independent multi-stakeholder ICT Innovation Forum March 3- 4, 2015 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi.
The event will engage stakeholders in exploring the needs of the innovation ecosystem and come up with ways to address barriers in the market.
The forum under the theme ‘Mind the Gap. Close the Gap’, will feature thought leaders as well as showcase the latest ICT innovations in the market. The objective of this forum is to bring the ICT community together to review the ecosystem and identify issues hindering growth of this industry.

Key Agenda items that will be discussed include: Building IT Kenya, Buy IT Kenya, Strategic Procurement: Government Procurement and Market Access. This discussion will look into interventions required to build brand Kenya from a corporate & government level.Panelist will look into policy gaps and ask the hard questions on what it will take to build enterprise Kenya.
The innovation forum will also look into sustainable talent and workforce development and improving education and skills to allow for better hiring. Under this session the ICT experts will delve into the skills and resource gap that exists in the area of ICT, programs that are currently in existence and what more can be done to broaden and deepen their success.
The panelists will also share their insights on the experiences of both funders and recipients of funding in Kenya and the region.

The forum will also look at Co-Innovation, Research and Development, this track will dig into the genesis of ideas and what to consider in the design, development and protection of ideas and as well as ITeS Exports where the session will explore how innovation made in Kenya can gain competitive advantage and what measures need to be put in place to create ICT export champions.
Expected participants are top ICT investors, innovators, academia,government officials, industry captains and other stakeholders.
