CarePay Group has appointed Moses G. Kuria as Acting Chief Executive Officer of CarePay International and M-TIBA, marking a leadership transition within the health insurance technology company.
In the new role, Kuria will assume responsibility for the overall leadership of the CarePay Group, with a focus on executing the company’s strategic priorities and continuing to scale its health insurance technology platform across the region.
Kuria has been with CarePay for a decade, most recently serving as Group Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of M-TIBA, CarePay’s digital health platform in Kenya. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nairobi.
Alongside the leadership change, CarePay has also appointed Irene Nafula as Acting Managing Director of M-TIBA Kenya. In her new position, Nafula will oversee the Kenyan business, including strategic partnerships, operational performance, and client delivery.
Nafula previously served as Commercial Director at M-TIBA, where she led partner engagement and enterprise growth initiatives. She brings more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector, spanning product development, operations, and service delivery. She holds a Master of Science in Organisational Development from the United States International University Africa.
The appointments follow the departure of Pieter Prickaerts, who has stepped down as Group Chief Executive Officer after nearly seven years in the role. During his tenure, Prickaerts helped shape the organisation’s growth strategy and expand its international presence.
The CarePay board expressed appreciation for his leadership and contributions in building the organisation and establishing the foundation for its next phase of growth.
CarePay, known locally as M-TIBA in Kenya, partners with health insurers to build member-centric, scalable, and sustainable health insurance portfolios across the region using its digital health financing platform.
