Barnard emphasized that AI is a game-changer for businesses, urging leaders to adapt to the new technological landscape. She cited research projecting a $1.5 trillion increase in Africa’s GDP if the continent captures just 10 per cent of the global AI market.
Since 2021, Microsoft has collaborated with the Nigerian government to train millions of young people in AI and cybersecurity. These initiatives aim to prepare the workforce for AI-driven job opportunities and equip them with skills for the future economy.
