Little’s Little Ride has won this year’s Innovation Awards sponsored by Oracle at the ongoing Connected Kenya 2017 in Diani, Kwale County.
Little integrates car transportation within the city onto a technology platform ensuring convenient, transparent and quick service fulfillment for the customers and driver-partners.
Francis Nderitu, one of the judges said, “Little emerged the best because they had more created employment through partner-drivers and are keen to bring social equity in line with Kenya Vision 2030. We looked at scalability of the product, disruptiveness, creation of employment and alignment of the product with Vision 2030.”

The awards attracted more than 400 applications and were based on the 13 Vision 2030 basic pillars. The judges established groups including: County Government Solution, Environmental Management, Financial Services, Gender Youth and Vulnerable Groups and On Social Equity & Poverty Reduction.
Under the County Government Solution, Big Data Lab won for their product Data Mining & Analytics. At big data lab we collect, store, process and analyze data to give historical, real time and predictive analytics for informed decision making.
Under Environmental Management Little won through their Little Ride.Little integrates car transportation within the city onto a technology platform, ensuring convenient, transparent and quick service fulfillment for the customers and driver partners.

In Financial Services, Flexitech Group won through their FlexPay Technologies Flexpay is an automated layaway platform that enables customers afford essential goods and services from merchants and service providers while paying in piecemeal or flexible installments conveniently via mobile phones.
Under the Gender, Youth & Vulnerable Groups, Plan Kenya & Department of Children’s Services through the VuruguMapper Mobile App. A mobile App for reporting and tracking cases of child abuse at the community level; managing the cases amongst Police, Hospital, and Department of Children Services; and generating reports.
Under PDTP 2016 Cohort, Damu Sasa won with their Damu Sasa Product, a product of extensive research on the blood doanation and delivery service dynamics in Kenya.
