The Gaborone Metro is being rolled out in two phases, with the initial phase aiming to benefit a multitude of businesses and the subsequent phase promising even broader connectivity. According to Odirile Tamajobe, the Managing Director of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Botswana, “The launch of the first phase will reduce tariffs for local and international data products, making it more accessible to small and medium businesses that have previously been disadvantaged as compared to the larger enterprises.”

The ambitious plan aims to elevate the country’s economic status from upper-middle-income to high-income status within the next 13 years.
