Recently, LG was listed on the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Following a best-in-class approach, the Dow Jones’ indices measure the performance of the world’s sustainability leaders. Companies are selected based on a comprehensive assessment of long-term economic, environmental and social criteria that account for general as well as industry-specific sustainability trends.
The recognition was attributed to the company’s investment in green technology aimed at enhancing energy efficiency on the products as well as its ability to roll out eco- friendly products.
Besides the recent listing, LG has enjoyed green accolades for years. For instance, LG’s bottom-freezer refrigerators have been industry leaders in efficiency, with a Total No Frost energy grade rating of A+++ -20 percent. Recently, LG’s curved-screen 1080p OLED display was honored for its design innovation and environmentally friendliness, receiving a 2015 Edison Award for its 55EC9300 OLED HDTV. The display won the Gold Edison Award in the “Green” category.
