In a bid to meet investors and create more partnerships, tech entrepreneurs in Kenya have been urged to attend Les Rencontres Africa 2017 slated for October 5th – 6th the Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi – Kenya.
According to Annemijn Perrin, CEO, Digital skills foundation and one of the event’s organisers, Kenyan tech entrepreneurs should look forward to the Les Rencontres Africa 2017 as it will provide great opportunities for partnerships with other like minded people who will be in attendance at the annual event.
“We’re expecting a lot of French SMEs and ISEs at this event. Of course, all the big groups are present, but in terms of numbers it’s the SMEs and ISEs that will make up the majority,” said Marc Hoffmeister, General Commissioner of Les Rencontres Africa.
The Les Rencontres Africa 2017 event will be devoted to businesses. More than a thousand economic decision makers will come together on a business trip that will take companies to Abidjan, Tunis and Nairobi. On 5 and 6 October 2017, nearly 200 French and African heads of business will meet Kenyan leaders. The programme includes large-scale networking, tailor-made business meetings, high-level conferences and sectoral seminars.

Among the entities to represent Kenya are the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives, KEPSA, KAM, KenInvest, KNCCI and FSK while the French representation shall comprise the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economy, Société Générale, Bpifrance, AFD Group, Business France, the French Chambers of Commerce and Industry in France and abroad – the CIAN. The French foreign trade advisers and HEC will be doing the same.
New Business Opportunities
Expected at the show will also be numerous private partners keen to mark their presence in Africa with the goal to change the way we do things to create new business opportunities.

Organised under the auspices of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and with the backing of the French Ministry of Economy, Les Rencontres Africa have also received the support of the Kenyan Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives.
The first edition of this special show was launched in 2016, bringing together in Paris, nearly 2700 decision-makers from 30 countries. Following the success of this first edition, the decision was made to organise Les Rencontres Africa alternately between France and Africa from now on.
Les Rencontres Africa are based on a series of pre-organised meetings set up between all the participants to facilitate business exchange, with a programme of conferences and sectoral seminars to present the latest developments and attract influential personalities from the sector.
