Kenya Institute Of Bankers Partner For Africa Fintech Summit
The Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB) has partnered with dx⁵ (formerly CIO Africa) for the Africa Fintech Summit, scheduled to take place on 22-23 June 2023, at the Movenpick Hotel & Residences in Nairobi.
“We believe that this partnership will mutually benefit both organisations, creating a synergistic platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and growth within the fintech landscape. We are confident that KIB’s esteemed presence and contributions will elevate the Summit’s impact and attract an influential audience,” Harry Hare, Chairman and Director, dx⁵, said.
KIB is the professional umbrella body for the banking and financial services sector in Kenya, representing 40 banks and financial institutions as corporate members and their employees as individual members. The institute’s main objective is to uphold the integrity of the banking profession by promoting acceptable banking standards through certification of professional banking education, training, consultancy/counselling, codes of conduct, and continuing professional development programmes.

The Africa Fintech Summit, now in its 8th year, is a prestigious event that brings together industry leaders, innovators, and experts from the fintech ecosystem across Africa. The Summit aims to facilitate dialogue, explore emerging trends, and foster collaboration to drive digital transformation in the financial sector on the continent.
“The Africa Fintech Summit will provide an opportunity for discussions around innovative technologies and regulations such as data protection that are affecting the financial services industries. Banks are moving into digital banking. The Summit will provide an important platform to highlight the fundamental undertaking that banks and fintech are undertaking in digital transformation. The two-day interaction between bankers and fintech will move the industry forward,” Dr James Wanjagi, Acting CEO, Kenya Institute of Bankers said.
During the Summit, keynote addresses and panel discussions will focus on technology’s impact on various areas of the financial services industry, including payments, finance, wealth management, and insurance. The discussions will cover emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), blockchain, Big Data, and analytics, among others.
