Africa Technology Ventures’ Juliana Rotich has been included in the Young Global Leaders (YGLs) class of 2016. Rotich is among 11 other YGLs from Sub-Saharan Africa.
Juliana Rotich works with Africa Technology Ventures, a US$50 million venture capital fund, propel startups in Africa to the next level. She founded Ushahidi Inc., an innovative organization makes essential crisis information available to citizens all across the world.
The other 11 YGLs from Sub-Saharan Africa include: one more entrepreneur from Kenya, James Mworia, Chief Executive Officer, Centum Investment, and two from Uganda; Victor Ochen, Executive Director, African Youth Initiative Network-Uganda, and Christopher Ategeka, Founder and CEO, Rides for Lives.

According to a post on the Young Global Leaders’ official website, the forum looks for: Brilliant scientists, Emerging entrepreneurs, Tech investors, and Activist MPs to add to the list.
“Each year, we select the most innovative, enterprising and socially minded men and women under the age of 40 who are pushing boundaries and rethinking the world around them,” the post read.
“This year’s class of Young Global Leaders gives hope that they are ready to tackle the world’s most complex and pressing challenges. They are invited to join a community and a five-year leadership journey that we believe will help them break down silos, bridge cultures and use their collective skills to get things done for positive impact across private, public and civil society organizations,” it continued.
