Juliana Rotich Gets Role In Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Juliana Rotich, Head of Department for Fintech Integration Solutions at Safaricom, has been appointed as a member of the AI and Ethics Board of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, founded in 2000, is dedicated to harnessing the power of science and innovation to enhance the health and well-being of people worldwide, especially those in the most impoverished regions.

Juliana is a distinguished technology entrepreneur with a wealth of experience leading and scaling technology firms. She has previously held the position of Director at BRCK, a Nairobi-based company specializing in integrated hardware and software solutions. Additionally, she co-founded Ushahidi, an open-source software platform designed for information collection, visualization, and interactive mapping. Juliana has also played a significant role in co-founding Boya Inc, a financial technology startup.
Currently, Juliana serves on the boards of Safaricom Money Transfer Service Limited, Girl Effect, Mookh Africa, Blue Consulting, and Kenya Vision 2030. Her contributions to the burgeoning field of AI include serving as a board member for Atlas AI, an analytics platform focused on analyzing and predicting crop yields, economic well-being, and other vital indicators in developing nations. Furthermore, she has served as a task force member for Blockchain, AI & Emerging Technology at Kenya’s Ministry of ICT, Innovation & Youth Affairs.
