IDinsights Picks Frida To Lead East Africa
Congratulations to Frida Njogu-Ndongwe for being appointed the new East Africa Regional Director at IDinsight.
She joins the global advisory, data analytics, and research organization to help leaders maximize their social impact while overseing IDinsight’s projects, partnerships, and collaborations in East Africa and enabling decision-makers to use high-quality evidence to further their goals of improving lives.
Frida is a medical doctor, public health specialist, development and management consultant and entrepreneur with over 16 years of professional experience. She is passionate about public health and has managed large public health projects funded by diverse donors. She is the co-founder and was most recently the CEO of Afyakit Technologies, a Kenya-based start-up that was named by WHO as among the 30 top innovations with the highest potential for health impact in Africa.

She has a diverse wealth of experience both locally and internationally as a corporate leader and consultant. She worked as the Director of Programs at the Center for Health Solutions – Kenya, where she oversaw and managed HIV and HIS projects, helping secure about $120m in funding.
She has been a consultant at McKinsey & Company’s Africa Delivery Hub, Jhpiego, Kenya’s and Sierra Leone’s Ministries of Health, the Stop TB Partnership (UNOPS), and Lexlink Consulting. She has also been privileged to help develop international documents including strategies and guidelines such as a global pandemic emergency financing strategy and a TB community, human rights and gender assessment guide in addition to national documents including national strategic plans, an emergency supply chain framework, guidelines, and M&E tools.
Frida holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Medicine and of Surgery (MBChB) degree from the University of Nairobi.
