Get connected. Get educated. Be empowered to advance your tech career at “The African Women in Technology Conference”. With a focus on providing solutions to challenges faced by young girls and women in technology, the AWIT conference will feature a series of hands-on workshops, pitch practice and critique sessions and candid discussions about how to position yourself for success—especially in a male dominated industry.
The two-day event will take place at Kenyatta University Chandaria Business Innovation and Incubation Centre Nairobi, Kenya on July 21- 22, 2016. While spotlighting influential leaders in tech innovation, creativity, and leadership, attendees will also have an opportunity to have their questions discussed in an open forum.
“56% of women in technology leave their employers midcareer. And most events about women in tech tend to focus on learning how to code, but there’s a lot more that goes into building a successful career in technology. Our goal is to level the playing field for women by giving them access to leaders who are changing the face of technology, and actionable tactics that they can use to achieve long term success in the tech industry,” said Anie Akpe, the founder of African Women in Technology.
