Government appoints Dr. Katherine Getao as CEO ICT Authority

Ministry of Information Communication and Technology Cabinet Secretary,Joe Mucheru has announced the appointment of Dr. Katherine Getao as the new CEO of Information and Communications Technology Authority for the next three years.

“In exercise of the power conferred by the Information and Communications Technology Authority Order, 2013, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and Technology appoints Katherine Getao (Dr.) to be the Chief Executive Officer for the ICT Authority for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 11^th October, 2018.” reads the statement.

Ms Getao  previously served as ICT Secretary at the Ministry of Information Communication and Technology. She  takes over from acting CEO John Sergon.

ICT Authority was established in 2013 to rationalize and streamline the management of all Government of Kenya ICT functions. The state corporation is involved with several duties that involve enforcing ICT standards in the Central and County governments.
