Michael Njenga, has been appointed as the new Regional Head of IT Services for KPMG East Africa. Njenga joins his new job from his immediate appointment as the Group ICT Manager for Subaru Kenya/ ECTA Group.
KPMG East Africa practice comprises of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. The office additionally provides services to Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Burundi, Somalia, Ethiopia as well as Eritrea. KPMG East Africa has 32 partners and over 1000 professional staff. The Nairobi office serves as the regional coordinating office; providing the required networking and support to facilitate delivery of services on a timely basis to meet clients’ expectations.
Over 15 years of experience in IT
Njega describes himself, via LinkedIn, as a Business Technology Leader with over 15 years of experience in managing IT services, delivery and improvements within various sectors including Professional Services, Automotive, FMCG, IT Enterprise Services, Telecommunications, Agribusiness/Manufacturing and Systems Automation Management.

Prior to his appointment, Njenga held his post at Subaru Kenya/ ECTA Group for over 8 years (from Nov 2009 – Jan 2018) where he offered leadership in the strategic management and consolidation of Information and Communication Technology services for the ECTA Group. The Group companies consisting Subaru Kenya, Oriel Ltd (Monroe), Kampala Motors Ltd, Uganda Tea Corporation and Salama Coffee.
Njenga goes on to add that he has a successful track record in implementing major transformation initiatives ranging from building digital transformation frameworks, creating and running a Project Management Office (PMO), Multi-site ERP & Infrastructure roll-outs, e-Learning management, digital presence orchestration with focus on B2B and B2C channel optimization and IT Governance framework installation for organizations within East Africa.
