The Year Ahead

The Year Ahead 2023 - Opportunities in dxTechnologies
A few years ago, the pandemic drove an urgent acceleration in digital transformation initiatives. It pushed companies (of all sizes) to invest in advanced technologies to survive in the new normal. However, those investments were not just a few blips on the radar. The ensuing economic uncertainty, combined with changing customer needs, has led enterprises to double down on their efforts — with a renewed focus on operational efficiency, productivity and resilience.
Speaker List

While enterprises have already been adopting automation in 2023, the investment in the technology will go beyond isolated cases. The aim will be to help business leaders do more with less. This will eventually help them drive efficient growth, enhance productivity and generate cost savings amid business uncertainty caused by surging inflation, rising energy costs, growing talent shortages and geopolitical conflict.
We believe in 2023, companies will look to drive sustainability in their operations by using a composable enterprise strategy to unlock and integrate data and applications and applying automation and analytics to derive insights.
dx5 presents a programme that maps out what to look for in the year ahead. Bringing together users, analysts, vendors, business and professional associations, academics, government officials, and the press, dx5 events focus on how technology helps enterprises and individuals navigate the technology landscape in Africa.

Integrating 5G to Drive Business Growth and Revenue Streams
How 5G ready are you? 5th gen cellular networks are here to provide significantly faster speeds, lower latency, and more capacity than previous generations of cellular networks. CIOs should be aware of its technical aspects such as its architecture, use cases, interoperability, and security. You should also pay close attention to its deployment and rollout, costs, regulations, and how 5G can interact and work with other technologies, such as edge computing, IoT, and cloud to drive business growth.

Ben Roberts
Group Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Liquid Intelligent Technologies
Introduction to Panel 4
Could You Be Missing Out On 5G & Its Opportunities?
When it comes to 5G, there are quite a few possibilities beginning with connecting and empowering under-served communities, which will in turn grow the digital economy. There exists the 5G ecosystem that will include new business models and revenue streams for service providers, equipment manufacturers, and software developers. Not to mention how it will impact the consumer experience, one of the key drivers behind digital transformation. There is more to 5G than faster download and streaming speeds, improved gaming, and more reliable video conferencing. 5G is also expected to drive and inspire technological innovation and research.
