Epson Expands To Lead Tech Growth In META-CWA
Epson, a global technology company, has announced the establishment of a new regional sales company to manage its operations in the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, and Central & West Asia (META-CWA). The new regional hub, headquartered in Dubai, UAE, is aimed at addressing the significant growth the company has experienced across these markets in recent years.
Neil Colquhoun, President of Epson META-CWA, will lead the operations. With over a decade of experience at the company, Colquhoun will oversee a diverse workforce of over 320 people across the region. According to him, the decision to create a dedicated regional structure comes at a time when the company is seeing unprecedented demand for its technology solutions.
Colquhoun says the region holds great promise, inspired by the immense growth within META-CWA in recent years. “This expansion into the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, and Central & West Asia represents more than just business growth, it’s about connecting with the heart of local needs and delivering technology that empowers people and businesses.” Colquhoun says.

In response to the challenges posed by the vast geographic and economic diversity of the META-CWA region, Epson aims to customize its product offerings across sectors such as healthcare, education, financial services, construction, and tourism. The company intends to use its extensive network to introduce tailor-made technology solutions that respond to specific local demands, providing visual display, printing, scanning, and manufacturing technologies to an expanding customer base.
One area of focus is Epson’s commitment to sustainability. The company has set a goal to become carbon negative by 2050 and eliminate the use of limited underground resources, such as metals and oil. To align with this vision, Epson is developing sustainable technologies that will help reduce the carbon footprint of its customers.
In addition to its environmental efforts, Epson plans to roll out initiatives designed to nurture local talent. The Epson Graduate Program will aim to attract young professionals from the region, with a focus on enhancing skills and fostering career development. The company is also emphasizing diversity within its leadership team, where women hold nearly half of the management positions, a move that highlights the company’s commitment to inclusion and empowerment.

“This structure will give our talented on-ground teams greater opportunity to support continued business growth with local partners,” Colquhoun said. By embedding themselves more deeply within local markets, Epson hopes to better support its partners and clients while contributing to the technological advancement of the region.
Epson’s regional growth is supported by the significant sales gains it has reported in recent years. In FY2023, the company’s education solutions portfolio alone saw growth of over 100% compared to the previous fiscal year.
