Easy Taxi has over 3,000 drivers in Nairobi, Nakuru and Mombasa. In addition, during the time Easy Taxi operated in Kenya it executed over 150,000 rides
Africa will not be the first market Easy Taxi was pulling out of in 2014, the Uber Rival exited the Asian market.

At its peak, Easy Taxi covered 420 cities worldwide, including 20 locations in Asia and cities in parts of Africa and the Middle East.
Easy Taxi, which started out in Brazil, raised more than $75 million from investors, including a $40 million Series D round in 2014. It soon became outgunned in Asia, when Uber launched in India, where it is investing $1 billion.
While it got edged out in Asia and Africa, Easy Taxi is doubling down on Latin America, where it operates in 16 countries and covers more cities than Uber currently does.

But even as Easy Taxi exits the African market, rumuor has it that Lyft, a privately held American transportation network company based in San Francisco is soon launching in Kenya too with the backing of General Motors.
