DTB Appoints Jimmie Mwangi As New CIDO

Jimmie Mwangi assumed a new role as the Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO) at Diamond Trust Bank.  Mwangi, who recently announced his appointment on LinkedIn, is set to steer the bank toward innovative digital strategies and technological advancements.

Mwangi succeeds Dennis Volemi, who has transitioned to the role of Group Chief Technology Officer at KCB Bank Group. Volemi, with over two decades of experience spanning financial services, technology, media, and entertainment, had been instrumental in technology strategy, change management, service operation, and digital transformation.

Prior to his current role, Mwangi served as Group Chief Information Officer at Equity Bank Limited, where he played a pivotal role in managing business process innovation and enterprise digitalization.

Bringing a wealth of experience accumulated over four years in the banking industry, Mwangi expressed his gratitude on LinkedIn, stating, “The time has arrived for me to embark on a new chapter, driven by my passion to contribute to the transformation of Africa and its wonderful people.” He further added, “Working across six countries has been a fulfilling journey, encompassing both the highs and challenges.
