CIO East Africa has officially announced the dates for its 2018 African summits. The summits are set to cover topics ranging from: Cloud, Security, fintech, Internet of Things and Big Data.
The Summit brings together hundreds of Enterprise IT & Security Buyers comprising CISO’s, Cyber Security Teams, Governance and Compliance Teams, CIOs, CTOs, IT Architects and the entire IT Directorate in the public sector – who are the budget holders with real challenges looking for the best solutions for their businesses.
The dates were announced by Ms. Laura Chite, CEO, CIO East Africa, during an event dubbed, ‘CIO: the year ahead’, held at the Dusit D2 Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. Ms. Chite noted that the first event on the calendar would be the Cloud & Security Summit, set to be held in Kigali, Rwanda from 22nd – 23rd March 2018.

“Cloud & Security Summit is this year earmarked as the climax engagement during the national Cyber Security Awareness Week in Rwanda. It shall share insights, demonstrate the hacks and provide the tools and techniques to ensure companies are compliant and secure as they transition their business assets to the cloud,” Ms. Chite added.
Dates for the other summits are as follows:
The CIO Fintech Summit will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 17th – 18th May 2018. The Fintech Summit promises to deliver an unbiased and independent view on the finance market. It’s undoubtedly time for banks and other financial institutions to adapt some emerging trends; to keep up with expectations of their customers or prospective customers.
Internet of Things & Big Data Summit will take place in Nairobi, Kenya from the 16th – 17th August 2018. Internet of Things and Big Data Summit emerge as twin hearts of digital revolution. They are an imperative across all industries. For an enterprise to make an impact and thrive in the digital era, now is the time to drive data on the IoT ecosystem.

The summits shall then be topped off with the annual CIO 100 Symposium & Awards. The event is set to take place in Kampala, Uganda on the 22nd – 23rd November 2018. The CIO 100 Symposium and Awards is an acknowledged mark of enterprise excellence in business technology. The annual awards is preceded by an industry survey; which celebrates 100 organizations and their IT teams for using technology in innovative ways to deliver business value.
