The announcement was made via the surveys website, stating, “Take the survey for an opportunity to be recognised as one of the most innovative IT executives in East Africa and profile your organisation as efficient, trendy and progressive, and gain more customers and followers.”
“Kenneth Ogwang’ of East Africa Breweries Limited was hailed CIO of the Year 2016. Will you join the ranks this year?” the statement continued.

“Simply submit a project and get the acknowledgment you and your team deserve for this coveted award,” it added.
According to Mr. Sam Gicharu, CEO of Insight Wells, the company that conducted the 2016 survey from which winners were drawn, EABL took the prize because of its brilliantly implemented distributor management system (DMS), a Salesforce solution that automates the distributor activities and enables the performance tracking of its entire sales force.
“The DMS solution, a cloud-based solution, allows accessibility by the head office and gives master data management, reporting among other functionalities. The DMS also has a back-office module used by distributors offering. This system has enhanced synergy across distributors and internal sales staff,” Gicharu told the congregation in Naivasha shortly before the winners were announced.
