CIO100 Megatrends Report 2019

With the recent strides digital transformation is making in Kenya, the CIO100 Megatrends Report 2019 was always expected to outline how different industry players are attempting to diversify while growing their image in their respective technology fields. This comes at a time when technological advances are always on the verge of changing and evolving into something new.

Sam Gicharu, CEO at InsightWells, was at hand to say “We noted that there was an increase in the appetite for cloud computing and ERP’s.” He further outlined the role of SMEs, noting that they are responsible for the technology uptake in cloud computing and enterprise resource planning (ERP).

In addition, he noted that Africa has a 53 per cent internet penetration with the next three years set to record a rise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data. Essentially, it was alluded to that for businesses to operate at high tech levels, high-quality data was needed.
