CIO Africa & Deloitte Collaborate To Elevate CIO100 Awards

CIO Africa and Deloitte & Touche LLP today announced a strategic collaboration to bring independent auditing, transparency and global rigour to the CIO100 Awards – Africa’s longest-running technology leadership recognition platform.

This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in the award’s 17-year history. Deloitte will review submissions, verify results, and audit the scoring process to confirm that winners are selected objectively and consistently.

The CIO100 Awards recognise and celebrate 100 organisations and individuals leading digital transformation across Africa. Past winners have included trailblazing enterprises that have leveraged technology to improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and redefine competitiveness within their industries, such as Safaricom, BAT Nigeria, Diageo, and Kenya Airways. With Deloitte serving as the independent adjudication partner, the process gains additional layers of validation, benchmarking the awards against globally accepted audit and evaluation standards.

Under the new framework, Deloitte will review the results of the evaluation to confirm alignment with the defined evaluation approach for all entries, ensuring they meet the published criteria. Additionally, Deloitte will review how judges score submissions and verify the final results before winners are officially announced. This structure introduces accountability and consistency, helping safeguard the awards’ reputation for impartiality even as the African tech landscape continues to mature.
