This follows a notice that was posted on the CA site where The Authority advertised the position of the Director-General in line with the requirements of the Kenya Information Communications Act, 1998, as amended in 2013.
The current Director General, Francis Wangusi, was appointed to the position on 21st August 2013 for a period of three years ending on 21st August 2015. Prior to his appointment he had served in the same position in an acting capacity for a period of one year.
“The authority is seeking to recruit a highly competent, proactive and self- driven individual to fill the position of the Director General. The Director General shall be the Chief Executive Officer and Secretary to the Board of the Authority,” read a statement by the CA chairman, of Board of Directors.

Appointment of the position will be on contract terms for a tenure of four years, renewable once, upon satisfactory performance.The successful applicant should possess extensive leadership and managerial experience of at least 15 years, ten of which must be at a senior managerial.
He or she must also possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline and must be affiliated to a professional body.
“The Director General shall be appointed for a term of four years renewable once and The board shall determine the terms and conditions service of the Director General, in consultation of the Public Service Commission,” read the statement.

Wangusi’s appointment was confirmed on August 21, 2012 after serving in an acting capacity for a year.
The authority has also come up with new proposals to now regulate advertising for both for television and radio among other changes which could rekindle fresh debate. Also from the East Africa Connected summit held earlier this month in Diani, The Government through the Ministry of ICT announced that plans were underway to restructure the regulatory body to enhance efficiency in its services.
