BUI Opens Cyber Security Operations Centre In Nairobi

BUI, an award-winning global technology consultancy and managed services provider specialising in cloud, security and networking solutions for mid-market and enterprise-level businesses, has opened a state-of-the-art Cyber Security Operations Centre (Cyber SOC) at its branch in Nairobi, Kenya.
A Cyber SOC is a centralised unit that monitors, detects, prevents, and responds to cyberthreats in real time. The Nairobi facility is an important milestone for BUI: it’s the company’s fourth Cyber SOC in Africa following the success of its security operations in the South African cities of Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Welkom.
Hasmukh Chudasama, General Manager: East Africa at BUI, said the new Cyber SOC was the culmination of many months of planning and preparation. Speaking at the launch event on 20 February, Chudasama said BUI was committed to helping organisations become more secure and resilient. “For Kenya and the broader East African region, our Nairobi Cyber SOC represents more than just advanced security: it’s an investment in local talent, skills development, and job creation. We believe in Kenya’s potential as a cybersecurity leader and we look forward to strengthening our partnerships with industry innovators and empowering the next generation of digital defenders.”

Before the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the BUI Nairobi Cyber SOC, BUI Global CEO Ryan Roseveare expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the establishment of the facility. He remarked: “This new hub represents a significant milestone in our expansion within the East African market. We are committed to delivering tailored, localised security solutions that provide our customers with comprehensive protection and peace of mind as they adopt and embrace our world-class services.”
BUI’s Nairobi Cyber SOC combines the power of Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Copilot and custom tools with the expertise of its SecOps team to ensure holistic security for organisations of all sizes, around the clock.
Managing cyberthreats is a major challenge for businesses today. Cybercriminals and threat actors are carrying out more sophisticated, more targeted attacks while IT teams are struggling with issues like skills shortages, rising technology costs, and increasingly complex digital landscapes. In this environment, it’s imperative for individuals and businesses to prioritise cybersecurity, noted special guest Phyllis Migwi, Microsoft Country Manager: Kenya.

“If you’re using technology, the first foundation is security… Security should begin with me as an individual. What tools am I using? Do I understand them? Do I know how they interact with other tools? These are critical questions. One of the key benefits that BUI brings to its customers is helping them navigate these security considerations,” Migwi said.
Rachael Ongalo, Head of IT at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust, explained how her organisation had benefited since choosing BUI as a security partner nearly three years ago. “It has been fantastic… The Cyber SOC has greatly enhanced our visibility, allowing us to detect and respond to threats more effectively. As a result, we’ve significantly reduced the risks to our organisation.”
The BUI Cyber SOC in Nairobi is fully operational and the company has plans for continued innovation and the integration of emerging cybersecurity technologies.
I love this looking forward to work with BUI
