The nominees, from more than 10,000 submissions, have been selected for 23 categories including: Best Technology Blog, Best Governance Blog, Best Women and Girls’ Empowerment Blog, Kenyan Blog of the Year and Best Business Blog.
The voting phase of the annual contest was also launched, with voting continuing until 9 May.
To vote, visit www.bakeawards.co.ke/vote; voting is limited to one vote per person..SMS vote verification has also been introduced this year.

Safaricom announced sponsorship of the awards to the tune of Ksh. 3.1 Million.
“We have supported the BAKE Awards from the beginning because we believe in the power of blogging to shape conversations,” Kui Kinyanjui, head of Corporate Communications at Safaricom said while announcing the sponsorship. “It is also nice to see the growth of blogging over the years and we are happy to continue to support the industry.”
