ASUS has announced the launch of the Zenbook UX305 into the Kenyan market. The device which is light with sleek design, adds to the growing list of premium Ultrabooks that are targeted at the high end market. It’s priced at KES 119,999 and is available at Text Book Centre, Bright Technologies and Avenue Electronics.
According to the multinational the high performance device is set to address all round needs of consumers who constantly want better outcomes from new innovations.
“We recognise Kenya’s agility in PC innovation and we are keen to expand our market with a view of meeting the needs of ambitious, mobile achievers who have high expectations of their work and entertainment technology,” said Asus Product manager Mr. Derek Sung.

The local launch comes after the multinational unveiled the Zensation range of products at the Computex event in Taiwan earlier last month. The Zensation range of products includes the Zenbook among other products. It is powered by the Intel Core M processor and comes with 8GB of memory (RAM) and 256 GB of storage (SSD).
The Zenbook is just 12.3mm thick as opposed to its rival the new Macbook Pro that measure 13.1mm. It weighs 1.2kg, with a subtle wedge design and smooth diamond-cut edges that emphasize the sleek ultra-thin chassis. It also features a full size ergonomic keyboard and a large responsive touchpad make engaging with the device an efficient and rewarding experience.
When it comes to visual display, the ZenBook has two 13.3 inch in-plane switching options for wide viewing angles, including a matte Full HD (1920×1080) that offers clear images. This is aside from an optional QHD+ (3200×1800) display-for an extremely sharp display.

Its other features includes three USB (3.0) ports which offer three times faster data transfer than the second generation USB (2.0) ports. Using a single USB (3.0) port as a charging outlet on the machine makes recharging mobile devices faster than ever before.
The Ultrabook’s sound system contains the ASUS Sonic Master audio with ICE power technology from Bang & Olufsen producing deep base, rich mid tones, and crystal-clear highs. The machine is available in two colours – Obsidian Stone and Aurora Metallic.
The Zenbook series has scooped a number of worldwide design awards, the most recent one being the 2015 iF Design Award. Other awards include the 2014 good design award from the japan institute of design promotion and the Good Design best 100 list.
