Ali Hussein Joins AFN As An Executive Board Member
Ali Hussein Kassim has been appointed to the Executive Board of Africa Fintech Network (AFN).
Hussein is a serial tech entrepreneur who has made significant contributions to the digital policy and regulatory landscape in Kenya and serves on the boards of various organizations in private and public organizations. He is the pioneer Chairman of the Association of Fintechs in Kenya.
Speaking on the appointment, Dr. Segun Aina, President, Africa Fintech Network said, “We are pleased to have Ali Hussein Kassim, Chairman, Association of Fintechs in Kenya join the AFN board.” Adding, “He brings a wealth of rich and diverse experience and we trust that with him joining the board, we are in a stronger position to fastrack the achievement of the objectives of the AFN.”

Accepting the appointment, Mr Hussein said “I’m delighted, honoured and humbled to be appointed to the Executive Board of the Africa Fintech Network. Africa is the birthplace of Fintech and the AFN is playing a crucial and key role in furthering the adoption of Fintech across Africa. We have just scratched the surface up to now. The opportunities are immense going forward. I look forward to playing a Pan-African role and beyond in my new appointment”.
AFN is the continent-wide platform that unites African fintech leaders, organisations, and stakeholders. The AFN network consists of national fintech associations that represent all fintech in their jurisdictions. AFN is actively involved in establishing fintech associations across the continent and convenes to exchange information and ideas, share opportunities, and advocate for key issues facing the industry.
