Aitec Africa has convened an ICT Summit at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies in Nairobi Kenya on the February 18 – 19, 2015 aimed at a want to turn the long heralded ICT revolution to start delivering results that improve the quality of life for the region’s citizens and lift to world class status.
In its fifth edition, the East Africa ICT Summit will provide an interactive session of different fields of ICT. Among the key topics to be discussed will include: The role of the board and CXOs in aligning technology with the business, A Unified Communications Vision for ICT in East Africa, Delivering customer experience when the power is with the people, Managed services: Shifting IT investment from CapEx to OpEx among other interesting topics.
Announcing the outline programme for this year’s Summit, AITEC Chairman Sean Moroney said, “The unique nature of the Summit is that it engages partners and sponsors that represent a huge diversity of IT applications across all vertical markets,” he said. “We are delighted with the level of support we are receiving from stakeholders that have great value to add in terms of the IP they are contributing to the Summit.”

Themed “Turning ICT Visions into Reality,” the event will also feature new entrants in Kenya’s IT sector including, Uber, e-Soko, empire system and others including Interactive intelligence, Seacom, Digital Divide Data (DDD) and Hitachi Data System.
Waweru Kiarie, Communications officer at eSoko said the Summit is a benchmark industry event. “We are delighted to once again be supporting an AITEC conference. It is a great opportunity to share knowledge, we look forward to using the forum enlighten the delegates on the smartest way to connect with farmers as well as cover a session where we will look at whether MMOs are the problem or the solution.”

Uber Taxis are set to offer free rides to the VIP delegates. The opening ceremony is set to be presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta and is also set to be accompanied by four cabinet secretaries.
Through its range of in-depth specialist Forums, AITEC East Africa 2015 will provide a unique platform for ICT professionals and managers from all sectors to gather information, contacts, and knowledge to take back to their organisations to empower them to accelerate delivery of results. In addition, the Summit will act as a clearing house to identify synergies, link initiatives, form partnerships, and avoid duplication of projects and waste of resources.
Through an intensive partnership programme, AITEC East Africa 2015 will bring together all stakeholders to ensure that the full display of regional and national ICT initiatives, whether by government, private sector and or development partners, will be represented, explained, examined and hopefully priorities assigned, synergies identified and action accelerated.
