ADN Set To Empower Women In Virtual Event
The African Diaspora Network (ADN) and dxNova, a dx5 diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiative invite you to join them for a virtual event in honour of International Women’s Day on March 28th, from 12 noon to 1:15 pm EST (8 pm to 9.15 pm EAT). This year’s theme, Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress, aligns with the United Nations’ urgent call for increased financing in gender-equality initiatives amidst global crises.
The event will feature a keynote address on the impact of investing in women, a dynamic panel discussion with women leaders, and a call to action to empower women across various sectors. This will highlight ADN’s collaboration with organisations like the Mahakahama Foundation and USADF. The discussions will explore how investing in women drives innovation, promotes inclusive development, and fosters social justice.
“Investing in women extends beyond financial backing; it entails ensuring access to education, healthcare, employment opportunities, leadership roles, and decision-making positions. We also need to actively dismantle barriers impeding women’s progress. For instance, advocating for equal land ownership rights for all women in Africa is crucial. Every woman deserves the same rights and opportunities as anyone else,” said Almaz Negash, CEO & Founder of the African Diaspora Network.
