Access Bank Kenya Appoints Ralph Opara As Country MD
Access Bank Kenya has announced the appointment of Ralph Opara as its new Country Managing Director.
Opara joins the Kenyan subsidiary from the Group office, where he served as Group Head of Access Bank Group’s Commercial Banking Division. He brings with him more than two decades of banking experience, including ten years within the Access Bank Group.
The bank said Opara’s Group-level expertise will be combined with the local knowledge of the existing leadership team to accelerate its growth strategy in Kenya.

“We are confident that, alongside the leadership team of Access Bank Kenya and National Bank of Kenya, Ralph will play a key role in the Integration Management Office (IMO), ensuring delivery of a stronger, regionally connected and future-ready institution,” the bank stated.
Access Bank also expressed gratitude to Lillian Odhiambo, who has been leading the bank in an acting capacity. Odhiambo will continue to serve as Executive Director, Wholesale Banking, while supporting a smooth transition.
The appointment underscores Access Bank’s ambition to strengthen its presence in Kenya and across East Africa by blending local trust and heritage with pan-African scale and capability to drive inclusive growth and enable regional trade.
