Samsung is set to release a new fitness tracker called the Galaxy Fit 2. It’s a new and improved version of the original Galaxy Fit band that offers new features, and more battery life. A lot more battery life, in fact.
With the option to track metrics like calories burned, heart rate, distance, and sleep patterns, the Galaxy Fit 2 is spearheading a new way in which fitness technology works, because not only can it detect up to five different types of fitness activities, it can also track your sleep patterns, giving you a daily analysis of your sleep.
Samsung is promising that the new model can last for at least 15 days on a single charge and up to three weeks depending on your settings. That battery life is also a massive increase over competing trackers, like the upcoming Fitbit Inspire 2, which only lasts for up to 10 days on a charge.

The groove design of the Galaxy Fit 2 helps reduced sweating while the 1.1-inch AMOLED 3D glass display gets more than 70 different face options that let you add a touch of customization to the device. The 159mAh battery is said to be good for at least 15 days on a single charge, making the Galaxy Fit 2 the perfect option for those who don’t need a smartwatch but would prefer wearing something that helps them meet their fitness goals.
The device itself is made from plastic, it’s IP68 water resistant and weighs just 21g. The Galaxy Fit 2 is compatible with Android handsets running version 5.0 or later with 1.5GB of RAM and iPhone 7 or later models running iOS 10.0 and up.
Samsung has not yet released the price details for the rest of the world, but for Europe, Galaxy Fit 2 will be available on October 2 for 46.76 euro. That is around Ksh5900.
